Martin Luther

What faith is according to Luther?
- God's work in us
- Trust in God's grace
- A way of life
- Something you have faith in (enough) to be willing to die

What faith is NOT according to Luther:
- Not what some people think it is (a delusion)
- Just stating I believe but not doing anything with it
- Not doing only good deeds
- A human dream, but rather something created by God

1.  What is meant by "justification by faith"?
- Because of Christ's death, all sins can be forgiven
- Only need to BELIEVE in God to be saved, therefore do not have to pay for salvation

2.  Who can be a priest according to Luther?  According to the Catholic Church of the time?
- Everyone who believes can be a priest
- Cannot be: women, children, the poor, the undesirables

3.  What is the role of the Bible for Luther?  For the Church?
- For all to use for study
- A way to get to know God
- A true source of information regarding God
- CHURCH: a way to control people
- a way to justify their actions

4.  Main differences?
